I'm obviously not Black but ...

I don't understand the backlash that follows Barack Obama because of his skin color. Some Blacks love him and admire him for what could be a historic run to the White House. Others, however, berate him for "talking down to Blacks". I have to ask : what is wrong with attempting to encourage pride and responsibility in America??? This point does not have to refer solely to the Black population, but also to the White population. These days, there is always someone blaming someone else when the fact is - YOU control what you do. Others' perceptions of YOU are generally related to how YOU behave, how YOU speak, or even what YOU do not do.

So, Blacks, Whites, and everyone else - quit bitching and learn a lesson. I'm not sure who I'm voting for in November but I am SO GLAD to see someone encouraging personal responsibility. Sure, the President has a great deal of control and effect over the nation's well-being and global image. Yet, even more responsible for these points is the American public.

SO GROW UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOURSELF. There are enough lazy, ungrateful, and irresponsible people in this entire world. Don't let America sink into despair.

I would like to see John McCain say the same thing to the White population. That way, both Blacks and Whites can (dare I even suggest) UNITE on something!
